Protect yourself from the sun. Over exposure to the sun can give you age spots, freckles and wrinkles, as well as dry, rough skin. Too much exposure to the sun can also lead to skin cancer and other serious conditions. Try to avoid exposure when the sun is the strongest – between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. When you are out in the sun, wear clothing that will provide coverage such as long-sleeved shirts and hats. Use sunscreen!
Smoking contributes to poor skin, so if you can quit smoking! Smoking will add wrinkles because it constricts the blood vessels in the skin. Without good circulation, the skin is deprived of oxygen and nutrients. Collagen and elastin in the skin are also damaged by smoking.
